Beneath The Sea - 2005
 Each year, Beneath the Sea is pleased to give
amateur underwater photographers and
videographers a chance to compete with their
peers from across the World.
BENEATH THE SEA 2005
UNDERWATER PHOTO/VIDEO COMPETITION RESULTS:
The Best in Show-Underwater Photography
receives the David Doubilet Award for Excellence
in Underwater Photography and a one week
Live-Aboard dive trip on the winner's choice of
The Nimrod Explorer (diving the Great Barrier
Reef in Australia), the Caribbean Explorer
(diving Statia, Saba and St Kitts) or the Turks
& Caicos Explorer. This year's winner is Dmitry
Rudakov of Saint-Petersburg, Russia. His slide
is titled: "Jellyfish."
The Best in Show-Underwater Creative
Photography receives The Jim Church Award for
Excellence in Underwater Creative Photography
and a one week trip aboard Peter Hughes'
Windancer in Tobago. This year's winner is
Gregory Sweeney, Auckland, New Zealand. His
image is titled: "Shockwave."
The Best in Show-Videography receives The
Stan Waterman Award for Excellence in Underwater
Videography, and a trip to Cocos Island on the
Undersea Hunter. This year's winner is Steve
Douglas, Mesa, California. His video is titled:
"Nocturnal Nebula."
