Beneath The Sea 2002 March 22, 23, 24 Photo and Video Competition

Beneath the Sea is pleased each year to give amateur underwater photographers and videographers a chance to compete with their peers from across the United States and Canada.

In 2002, our Best-In-Show Prize for slides was the David Doubilet Award for Excellence in Underwater Photography and seven days for two people on Explorer Ventures' liveaboard dive boat Nimrod Explorer, diving the Great Barrier Reef, departing from Cairns, Australia.

In 2002, our Best-In-Show Prize for video was the Stan Waterman Award for Excellence in Underwater Videography and one week for two people on board a Nekton Diving Cruises liveaboard dive boat, diving the waters around Belize or the Bahamas.

The deadline for the 2002 contest was December 31, 2001, and winners were announced at the Saturday Evening Film Festival, March 23, at Beneath The Sea 2002.
