Beneath The Sea 2002

Hosting the Largest Consumer Scuba & Dive Travel Show in America

March 22, 23, 24
at the Meadowlands Exposition Center, Secaucus, New Jersey

Welcome to all who are interested in scuba diving and related environmental issues. BTS is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to increasing awareness of the earth's oceans and the sport of scuba diving.

As an award-winning organization, BTS helps promote environmental conservation and the protection of marine wildlife through grants to other nonprofit groups. Through its international poster contest for children, called Ocean Pals, BTS helps educate children on the wonder and delicate nature of our oceans.

Beneath The Sea's 26th annual exposition in March 2002 will feature seminars and workshops, lots of great door prizes, a film festival showcasing the work of world-renowned underwater videographers, great parties, and exhibits and demonstrations by hundreds of manufacturers, dive clubs, dive shops, resorts, and much more.

Renowned underwater film producer and photographer Stan Waterman will be Master of Ceremonies at our the Saturday Evening Film Festival, which will also feature Emory Kristof of National Geographic; Ralph White of Titanic fame; and Captain Dan Crowell exploring the Atlantic. The show will also feature award ceremonies for its photo and video contest and Ocean Pals poster contest for children, and displays of winning entries.

Special Events this year will include induction of new members into The Women Divers Hall of Fame, honoring and giving recognition to those women divers of the 20th century who have given the most to our water planet. Once again, nondivers can find out what they're missing with Discover Diving sessions. And show visitors can enjoy demonstrations of deep sea and antique diving gear at the Fantasea Scuba Tank.

Volunteer With Beneath The Sea

Beneath The Sea is without a doubt the largest show of its kind in the world today. And sometimes it seems to be an unmanageable beast. But, like the cavalry riding to the rescue, there are the BTS volunteers.

Beneath the Sea depends on volunteers, many who work during the show weekend and some dedicated souls who work year-round to create the show. We especially need new people to join our year-round volunteers.

Anyone interested in volunteering to help at the show or year-round can contact our volunteer coordinator at Volunteer@BeneathTheSea.org.
