When Beneath the Sea meets for its
annual Undersea Ocean Expo and Travel
Show at the Meadowlands Exposition
Center in Secaucus, New Jersey March
27th, 28th, and 29th, 2009 they will
present two special events you will not
want to miss:
Friday, March 27th will bring
together a gathering of experts in the
growing field of Public Safety Diving
for a full day’s program of seminars and
workshops followed by the opening of
Beneath the Sea, and -- what else – a
party!
Also, the Diver’s Alert Network
will present a series of seminars
exploring the details of water emergency
management using past events as their
models.
If you are a Dive Leader, dive boat
Captain, Instructor, or a dedicated
Professional Technical Diver you will
want to be a part of the Beneath the
Sea Public Safety seminars beginning
at 9 A.M. Friday, March 27th. In the
morning Diving Unlimited International’s
Faith Ortins explores how you can
protect your team in contaminated water
… Diver’s Alert Network’s Eric Douglas
looks at “Trends in Diving Accidents” …
Sea Vision projects the increased use of
Remote Operated Vehicles in Public
Safety Diving applications. After Lunch,
Captain Dan Crowell speaks to surface
supplied Air for Public Safety Diving,
law enforcement, and non-commercial ops
… Blades Robinson of IADRS explores
lessons learned from Public Safety
Diving fatalities … John Hott addresses
the value of full face masks in Public
Safety Diving … SubSalve closes the
afternoon with unique lifting solutions.
If you are a part of the Public Safety
Diving community, or a leader in that
community, you will want to join others
of your profession this day looking at
the business side of Public Safety
Diving.
DIVERS ALERT NETWORK TECH DIVING
CONFERENCE:
Also on Friday, March 27th a special
team from the Divers Alert Network
headed by one of Beneath the Sea’s
Divers of the Year, Dr. Richard Vann
takes on Technical Diving accidents and
incidents relating their examples to
specific expeditions in these difficult,
demanding, and demonstrative
environments. Dr. Vann demonstrates the
nature of diving physiology as it
applies to these diving accidents and
incidents … then Dr. Gozum applies the
response of diving medicine. That done,
these the issues are then focused
tightly on the two aspects of technical
diving demonstrating these problems:
Bernie Chowdhury applies the concepts to
wreck diving; while Gene Melton takes on
cave diving and cave divers talking on
equipment, procedures, and organization
– or lack thereof. If you are a Tech
Diver, and if you listen carefully, you
will hear the rumble beneath these
presentations that rebreathers are
replacing Open-Circuit scuba – and that
opens another can-of –worms. If you’re a
Tech Diver, Tech Expedition Leader,
Safety Diver or anything like that you
know this afternoon is a MUST for you.
That evening, at 6:00 P.M. your are
welcome to come visit the exhibit floor
when beneath the Sea opens for it’s 33rd
annual exposition year. Them at 9:00Pm,
you are invited to the Tech/Wreck Party.
No matter which conference you plan o
attend, when you are done you should be
pleased to know that your price of
admission includes entrance to the
Beneath the Sea show floor when it opens
at 6P.M. that evening, and also invites
you to the Tech/Wreck party starting at
